(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to statistics of Vietnam Customs, by the end of June 2023, Vietnam's pangasius exports to China and the US reached 281 million USD, down 34% compared to the same period last year.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Statistics from China Customs show that in the first 5 months of 2023, China imported nearly 137 thousand tons of pangasius, 16.5% higher than the same period last year. Particularly, whole pangasius butterfly cut products imports increased by 105% reaching 42.1 thousand tons. Import volume of frozen pangasius fillets reached nearly 95 thousand tons, decreased slightly by 2%.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) The average price of Vietnamese pangasius exports to the Chinese market decreased by 10% over the same period last year, from $2.42/kg in 2022 to $2.19/kg. The two main product lines exported to China are frozen pangasius fillets and cuts (HS code 0304) accounting for 68% of the value with more than 91 million USD, down 32% over the same period last year and fresh pangasius/ frozen/dried whole, cut into pieces (except fish under code 0304) accounted for 32% with nearly 42 million USD, up 7% over the same period in 2022.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to statistics of Vietnam Customs, in the first quarter of 2023, Vietnam's pangasius exports to China and Hong Kong markets decreased by 22% to nearly 143 million USD. In which, pangasius exports to China reached 133 million USD, down 23% over the same period last year. Despite the decline, China still ranks first in the top markets for importing Vietnamese pangasius.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) The recovery of China's economy will contribute to the growth of Nam Viet JSC's pangasius export output in 2023, offsetting the decline from other export markets of the enterprise.

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) According to Customs statistics, by mid-October 2022, the country's pangasius exports reached 2.06 billion USD, an increase of 60% over the same period in 2022. By the end of October 2022, pangasius exports is forecast to earn nearly 2.2 billion USD in foreign currency, an increase of 80% compared to the same period in 2021. Of which, the Chinese market alone accounted for 30% with about 654 million USD, up 110%.

(seafood.vasep.com) Customs statistics show that Vietnam's pangasius exports in September 2022 reached 164 million USD, double that of the same period last year. In particular, exports to many markets such as China, Brazil, Thailand, England, the Netherlands, Australia, Singapore, etc increased by 2-3 times compared to the same period last year. Most impressive was exports to Germany in September 2022, increased 41 times over the same period and to Peru increased 17 times.
